Activities, Moderators and Reminders!

With a week and a half to go before the con begins, a few things to note:

First of all, online signups for the Friday evening quiz are now open! You can find signup instructions here, and the schedule item is here for your convenience. Signups for online members will close late on Thursday 8 June, BST. Folks attending in Cardiff will be able to sign up on the day.

Second of all, this year we particularly invite you to hang out in the audio/video channels of the Discord server! As usual the server will open and attendees will receive an invitation link on the evening before the con begins - that is, the evening of Thursday 8 June, BST. During some of that evening, ConCom members will be hanging out in the video channels to demonstrate the games and activities available. Join us to get a feel for what’s in there, and feel free to make use of the spaces for ad-hoc hangouts throughout the weekend.

Please note that due to these channels being audio/video based, moderating them is trickier than it is for text-based channels. Please be mindful and respectful in these channels, and report any issues that crop up there so that we can assist.

On the subject of moderation, we are still looking for a couple more Discord moderators for the weekend. This involves keeping an eye on the server during shifts of a few hours - while enjoying the con pretty much as normal - and escalating issues to ConCom where necessary. Finally, for Cardiff attendees, a reminder to ensure you’ve got your proof of vaccination prepared, and please bring some LFTs/rapid tests with you if you are able!
